Bethel Woods Center for the Arts

Immerse yourself in history and art at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Participate in a creative learning program, or explore the historic grounds of the Woodstock festival and the Bindy Bazaar Trails to see the “large-scale public art installation” featuring different colored crocheted shapes wrapped around tree trunks and branches. While you’re on-site, visit the museum to travel back in time to the 1960s.

Rail Explorers: Catskills

Hop on a rail bike on the Rail Explorers: Catskills to experience the history of the Ulster and Delaware Railroad, and get some exercise! Pedal through the Catskill Mountains, and alongside the Esopus Creek for an eight-mile round trip journey.

Bailiwick Animal Park & Riding Stables

Connect with nature and interact with animals at Bailiwick Animal Park & Riding Stables in Catskill. See more than 40 exhibits of both domestic and exotic animals at the Animal Park – which also includes petting and feeding areas, as well as educational shows. Climb into a saddle for a horseback or pony ride along 300 acres of beautiful land.

Zoom Flume Water Park

Go on a water slide at Zoom Flume Water Park before summer is over! Head to East Durham to zoom down the Typhoon Twister, catch a wave in the Riptide Cove Wave Pool, or float down the Lazy River. Pack your swimsuit, and get ready for the water!

World’s Largest Kaleidoscope & Country Stores

See the World’s Largest Kaleidoscope in Mount Tremper, located in the Country Stores at the Emerson Resort & Spa. Do you remember holding a kaleidoscope up to your eye when you were a child? Now, you can enter a converted barn silo that’s over 56 feet tall and 38 feet in diameter and watch changing colors and moving objects set to a musical score. After the show, try out an impressive collection of hand-held and integrative kaleidoscopes at the Kaleidostore.

Stone and Thistle Farm

Experience life on a farm at Stone and Thistle Farm in East Meredith. Take a tour of the farm on Saturday afternoons from May through October to participate in various activities, such as milking goats, collecting eggs, bottle feeding lambs, and more. To get a true sense of day-to-day living, try a farm stay to experience farm chores and get a guided tour of the land.
