July 21st is National Ice Cream Day and in celebration of this super sweet holiday (and every other day when it’s National Ice Cream Day in our hearts), we’ve scoured every corner of the Catskills to present you with some of our favorite places to grab a cone. While visiting some of the best small towns in the Catskills, make sure to satisfy your summer cravings at one of these ice cream shops!

Where to Get Ice Cream in the Catskills

Frozen Caboose

Frozen Caboose in Highland lives by the motto “life is short – eat dessert first!” Enjoy hard and soft flavors from Perry’s and Jane’s, which is homemade in the Hudson Valley. Choose from flavors such as Banana Cream Pie and Cannoli, or Pistachio and Salty Caramel Pretzel. Flavors vary by week – so stop back often!

Nancy’s of Woodstock Artisanal Creamery

Nancy’s of Woodstock Artisanal Creamery in Woodstock offers “old fashioned favorites with a twist.” Traditional and seasonal flavors are on offer year-round, including sorbet and vegan treats. Enjoy classic ice cream shop treats like sundaes and milkshakes made with unique combinations. Carrot Cake Sundae or Peanut Butter Krispie Ice Cream Sandwich, anyone?

Mickeys Igloo

Mickeys Igloo in Saugerties and Kingston specializes in soft-serve ice cream. Try yummy combinations such as caramel ice cream twisted with vanilla custard. Mickeys’ ups the ante with fresh donuts to add an extra treat to the day’s indulgence.

Alleyway Ice Cream

Alleyway Ice Cream in Saugerties features handmade in the Catskills confections. The menu rotates daily with at least six freshly made flavors of hard ice cream that include unique and traditional combinations. Goatie Whites in Fleischmanns is a hometown pizzeria and ice cream parlor that is family owned and operated. Grab a hot fudge or caramel sundae and celebrate National Ice Cream Day!

Mac-A-Doodles Ice Cream
